With the start of the new year, we welcome Dr. Paul Hébert as the new President of CIHR. Dr. Hébert is a distinguished clinician scientist, health leader, and passionate advocate for transformative research in both critical care and palliative medicine. Dr. Hébert has made groundbreaking contributions, including leading the world-renowned Transfusion Requirements in Critical Care (TRICC) trial, and has profoundly influenced patient care practices globally. His leadership has spanned across key health research initiatives, and his work has shaped both Canadian and international healthcare policy and clinical practice. Dr. Hébert brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing health research that benefits all Canadians and we look forward to working with Dr. Hébert in his new role.

I would also like to share a warm welcome to the new additions to the INMD Institute Advisory Board (IAB): Dr. Peter Thompson, from University of Manitoba and Dr. May Faraj from Université de Montréal and McGill University. Each of these researchers will bring a wealth of experience and the perspectives from their respective research communities to the IAB.
